Spring Fever

I know I haven't posted in a while. It's really not my fault. You see we've been really very sick. For the last month or so we've all been dealing with a very bad case of Spring Fever. (I hear its going around) We've tried to avoid it. Closing the curtains. Blocking out the sweet sounds of the birds chirping. But it's simply to marvelous to ignore. We start each day with the intention of sitting around the table learning grammar and history, our homeschool but by mid morning I hear the patio door sliding open and barefoot children sneaking outside for a quick breath of fresh air. And while our intentions are to have a small break, we soon find ourselves wrapped up in the glory of God's creation: And we spend hours outside. Inspecting wildflowers... Tracking wild animals.... And wondering what creatures roam around at night! We hike into the forest to find neon moss... And discover the home of a troll.... Surrounded (of course) by troll poison... And tempting wild strawberries to draw little children closer... We look close up at the things we pass by every day... Taking notice of even the smallest creature... Every year I tell myself that we're going to stick to a normal school year, Monday through Friday : September through June but everytime Spring comes around, we can't help but soak it all in. I think it's time I officially scheduled SPRING into our planner.
